On June 30, 2025, PMI France – Pôle La Défense had the pleasure of hosting a webinar led by Kemi Okoye, exploring the practical and cultural challenges of implementing modern project management practices within traditional environments.

As the volunteer who coordinated this event, I was delighted to see strong participation and thoughtful dialogue from our members. Kemi emphasized the critical role of change management as a bridge between established processes and modern frameworks, highlighting that successful transformation priorities people over tools.

The session covered:

Strategies to secure stakeholder buy-in and reduce resistance.

Real world examples of hybrid Agile adoption in organizations such as IBM, GE, and American Airlines.

The importance of training and mentoring in driving cultural change.

Interactive tools like Kahoot and Mentimeter helped engage participants and spark discussion around practical applications in sectors ranging from banking to aerospace.

Key takeaway: modernizing project management is not solely a matter of introducing new methodologies, but about fostering a culture open to learning, adaptation, and continuous improvement.
