(English version below)

Looking back on PMI Romania's Annual Conference: the first steps of a Franco-Romanian relationship to build together
On 25 September, I had the honour of travelling to Bucharest to represent the PMI France Chapter, as a Volunteer Ambassador, at the Annual Conference of the PMI Romania Chapter. Representing my adopted country in my country of origin was a lovely twist, but above all it reflects a cause that is very close to my heart: building lasting bridges between our project management communities.
The event was an opportunity to give a first concrete expression to the shared will, expressed this summer by the PMI France Chapter and the PMI Romania Chapter, to build a strong and lasting relationship together. France and Romania have long enjoyed strong political and economic ties. Today, we wish to gradually extend this spirit of cooperation to our project management communities.
Our initial discussions have identified several avenues for cooperation, which our two chapters wish to explore and develop over time:
- Sharing best practices and enriching each other's expertise
- Considering the organisation of joint events to bring the international network to life
- Actively supporting the French-speaking community in Romania, as well as Romanian project management professionals based in France.
Testimonial from Razvan Ichim, President of PMI Romania
I am particularly delighted to have taken part in the first discussions with the PMI France Chapter. This closer relationship, which we wish to build and grow over time, paves the way for stronger collaboration between our two chapters: sharing our knowledge and experience to enhance the quality of the services we offer our members.
We also wish to encourage exchanges between our 'Student Club' initiatives, in order to offer new personal and professional development opportunities to students of both chapters.
A rich, forward-looking programme
The 2026 edition of the conference offered fascinating perspectives on sustainability, leadership, artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship.
Beyond the highly engaging panel discussions, one remarkable initiative by the Romanian chapter deserves a spotlight: the translation from English into Romanian of Gary Nelson's project management books, specially adapted for children aged 9 to 12. A wonderful way to introduce the next generation to the fundamental skills of our profession!
I am returning from this trip deeply grateful to the entire PMI Romania team for their warm welcome. Exchanging with such committed professionals has strengthened my enthusiasm, and I look forward to seeing the first joint initiatives between our two chapters take shape in the coming months.
